The Brookwood Partnership was founded in 1996 by Kate Martin, Sue Parfett and Graham Sibthorp. Kate’s background is running operations, Graham in sales and Sue in HR/Training. This gave us a good mix for running a company and explains our founding philosophy of People, Food and Clients.
At Brookwood, we have enjoyed a steady and sustained growth over the intervening years, where we now provide contract catering services in over 94 independent schools across London, the South East and, more recently in the North.
We produce meals for over 45,500 pupils and staff every school day. We ensure that not only do our on-site teams become part of the school family, but our Managing Partners, Operations Mangers, and our support teams will as well; we do this through regular visits and constant two-way communication.
As well as providing breakfast, lunch and dinner services, we also cater for hospitality events including; sports days, summer balls, open days, prize givings, retirement parties and other revenue generating activities, for example weddings, seminars, summer schools and fundraising events.
We are an “Investor in People” company and have been ranked 3 times in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies To Work For. In 2012, we were ranked 31st Best Company.
We employ around 900 people and carry out an average of 16,000 hours of training every year. Apart from the required statutory training elements of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety, we also ensure that all staff, during their initial period with the company, benefit from induction training, customer service and food presentation skills.
Our Managers and Chefs also cover training in nutrition and menu planning, special diets and allergies, and the Brookwood “Eating for Life” initiative. We provide NVQ and management development training to ensure the opportunity of career enhancement for all personnel.
To maintain all of this, our Food Development team supports the Managers and Chefs in our schools. A Training Manager and Health and Safety Resource Manager support our Operations Managers in achieving the very highest standards within the schools. We ensure our customers, your pupils, only receive the very best in food quality and service excellence.
